This is the second time I have stayed in this hotel and I really like it. It is in a lovely setting along the Lot and you can easily walk into town. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the dogs are made welcome. The evening meal is excellent with a range of choices and good value. Freshly baked gluten free bread was available. Breakfast was really good too with lots to choose from and also good value. In dry weather the outside terrace is a lovely place to eat and enjoy river views. Ample parking and pleasant staff.

La Truite Dorée is just a great place to stay to explore the area around Cahors, Cirq la Popie and Figeac, as well as activities on and around the Lot river, or caves. The staff are all exceptionally friendly, the room was clean and quiet and the restaurant is very good. In this part of France, where it is really not easy to find dishes without meat, the restaurant has a somewhat larger selection for fish and vegetarian options. We felt it was great value for money.

The breakfast was very good with a good choice of cereal, fruit, cheese, yoghurt. The coffee was excellent and served with hot milk. The location is excellent with easy access to the shops, restaurants and sights in Cahors. There are also many gorgeous towns and villages close by to visit. Cahors is a lovely town with beautiful old buildings on the Lot river. We really enjoyed our long weekend in Cahors and highly recommend the Jean XXII Hotel.

The room has a private entrance and is very big, our room had a lovely walk in shower, it was very clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities and a small fridge. My wife was delighted to find a face cloth something most places in France don't have. The location is quiet, we drove into Martel for dinner which was just a short drive. Barbara our host was very nice and she bought us down a lovely breakfast and coffee before we left.

very good location. with lots of parking. The staff were very friendly. The room & en-suite were very clean. We had a nice view from our 1st floor room. The room has air con, but we found it to be quite comfortable & airy when we stayed in June, that we didn’t need the AC on. Breakfast was continental, with quite a few choices. Coffee machine not great, considering what nice coffee you can usually get in France.

The wifi was excellent, lots of choice for breakfast and the location was great - close to the train station and Pont Valentré, and under 10 minutes walk to the centre of town. Reception is always staffed and all staff - front desk, cleaners and breakfast attendants were friendly and helpful. I liked the big sofa chair. It is great value for money and provided me with a great base to recover from some hard walking.

A very spacious, comfortable, clean apartment with easy access and parking at the front of the building. Comfortable beds and good shower. A very well-appointed kitchen. Would highly recommend for a couple or a family. A 5 - 10 minute walk to the Pont Valentré then to the main square. (There is also a free parking lot by the Pont Valentré. Only a few minutes drive but nice to have at night.)

Maison Lapopie was as sweet and lovely as is the town. Fabian and Charlotte have done a magnificent job at their hotel. Everything is thought of, it is spotless, with lots of small touches that make one’s stay more comfortable. Their breakfasts were terrific, and their assistance with excursion ideas was top-notch. Even their dog was perfect! We could not have been happier.

Small but comfortable rooms. We did not have a lot of luggage so we felt well. Excellent hospitality. We really appreciate some extras and feeling like home. Also we want to mention the location. Quiet area (we were happy to keep windows open at night ) and the walk from the hotel to Rocamadour in about 45 minutes via small country side roads.

The staff at reception were very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and the bathroom newly remodeled. The beds (two simple beds and one double) were all very comfortable. The hotel parking is accessible and very convenient. Breakfast was simple but fresh with lots of options (cereal, yogurt, croissants, hot drinks, juice, etc).

Very warm welcome. The host even encouraged us to go and explore a beautiful nearby beach (stunning spot where you can take a dip in the Dordogne) and eat out in town. Hotel is in an excellent location, the rooms were a good temperature, everything very clean and as it should be. Lots of breakfast options and great coffee.

Great location with parking. Hotel was modern and very comfortable, our room had a view of the river and bridge. Very clean room, well furnished and with lots of nice touches. Felt like a luxurious stay. Staff very helpful, friendly and professional. Great location, easy to walk into town. Excellent breakfast.

The breakfast was great! Lots of options, yummy cheeses, & great ambiance. You can sit outside & enjoy a great view. The owners were incredibly friendly & helpful. I love the location. Beautiful views & multiple restaurants right outside. I had the best time. I highly recommend this hotel!

The staff were warm and friendly, excellent location close enough to walk to everything. Rooms were spotless and comfortable. Loved the breakfasts lots of variety. The Hotel had a huge pool and lots of sun lounges which was great for down time in the afternoons. Would highly recommend the Hotel.

A two star hotel with a good pool, lovely garden and a good restaurant? that’s what this place is. It really deserves more than 2 stars. The rooms are also very nice and with a lot of personality and comfortable beds. Also, it’s right next door to the departure of 2 canoe renting services.

For an overnight stop it was very good. Lots of parking space and the gate is locked at night. On the outskirts of the town and nice and quiet, which suited me. Friendly staff member who spoke very little English, but we got by with our limited knowledge of each other’s language.

Nice 3 star Hotel, nice welcome. Easy to find, lots of parking within a minute's walk. Room was nice and it was properly clean. Plumbing was good. I had a good night's rest. 10 minutes drive to the Rocamador Balloon festival which happens last week of September.

The Hotel is in the centre of this amazing village with everything within walking distance, even up lots of steps! The hotel's restaurant was delightful, overlooking a wonderful valley. Both the evening meal and breakfast were first class. We would go again.

The apartment was very comfortable, lovely to come home to after a day exploring. It had a comfortable bed, hot shower, and communication with the owner was great, and there was lots of tourist information. Guides on how to spend your time in the Lot region.

I was well recieved. The woman from the front desk was very helpful and very kind. Beautiful hotel within a nice village. Breakfast was really great. A lot to choose from. I like the fact that I can choose how I boil my egg. Definitely worth the stay!
